What we are building
Millions of lateral-flow tests are read every year, and if the result is written down at all, it is one word, positive or negative. A faint line is recorded the same way, even when a technician and a clinician would have called it differently.
We are making a rapid test as easy to read as it is to photograph. An owner, a technician and a clinician should be able to look at the same result and not hesitate about what it says.
Seeing what those results add up to across a region should be just as easy. Today, reading the test, keeping the result and seeing the regional picture are three separate problems, and SNOW brings all three into one system.

Robert Schaut, PhD
Chief Executive Officer, co-founder
Immunologist, formerly of the USDA-ARS National Animal Disease Center. Led external research partnerships at Oracle, then innovation and in-licensing in animal health at Elanco. Has built a clinical-stage biotech and raised funding for it.
Shay Bracha, DVM, MS, DACVIM (Oncology)
Chief Operating Officer, co-founder
Veterinary oncologist and Associate Professor at The Ohio State University, with a record in comparative medicine spanning proteomics, oncoimmunology and biomarker discovery. Has secured NIH (R01-NCI) and commercial funding, and has extensive clinical trial experience. At LateraDX, leads trial design, assay development and validation.
Risa Pesapane, PhD
Chief Scientific Officer
Infectious disease ecologist and Associate Professor at The Ohio State University, specializing in tick-borne disease. Founded and directs a revenue-generating surveillance unit, leading assay development, securing public- and private-sector contracts, and launching a fee-for-service testing program. At LateraDX, leads clinical requirements, validation and tick-borne expansion.
Where the science comes from
LateraDX is an early-stage company built on multiplex lateral-flow and reader technology validated through research at The Ohio State University. Two of our three executives hold appointments there, and the oncology biomarker work comes from peer-reviewed studies at the university.
Current status
Everything we are building is still in development. SNOW is not a cleared or approved diagnostic device, and every reading is presented for a clinician to confirm. Our programs are at different stages of development. Some tools are in beta testing in the clinic and some are internal alpha builds. Our oncology biomarkers are awaiting target-validation studies, and some of our work is still early research.
